Planting and flowering details
Show morePlant the pansies in a flower pot or balcony planter, as soon as possible after you receive it. Choose a pot with holes in the bottom, so that water can drain properly. Cover the bottom with pot shards or a layer of clay pebbles. Add fresh potting soil to the pot and place the root balls of the pansies at the correct height. Fill it with potting soil and press firmly. After planting, water it generously and place the pot in full sun, or half shade.
Pansies in the gardenLarge-flowered pansies add a great deal of colour to a winter garden. Generously plant these striking pansies in pots and balcony planters, along your garden border or in a flower bed. The differently coloured pansies are a gorgeous complement in any garden. For example, you can plant them along with early-flowering shrubs such as winter jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum). They also look lovely in a rock garden. Pansies will flower for several months: you can expect them to keep going well into April.
Show moreWater the pansies (Viola) on a regular basis, as the root ball must not dry out. Regularly trim flowers that are finished blooming, because this will encourage them to blossom again. For extra dense flowering, we recommend regularly adding plant food to the water while the plants are blooming.

They have no trouble flowering and can handle cold weather. You can always pluck a few to make a nice little bouquet for inside your home, too.
