Show moreAs soon as possible after receiving the Arachis hypogaea, plant it in the peanut flower pot. Sprinkle a layer of hydro granules in the bottom of the pot, top with fresh potting soil and place the root ball of the peanut at the correct depth. Fill the pot with more compost and press down gently. Keep the soil just below the rim so there is room for watering. Water generously immediately after planting and place the pot in a warm, bright spot. The plant can also stand in the full sun.
Show moreKeep the soil around the Arachis hypogaea moderately moist. The soil may be on the dry side. Rather than watering little and often, occasionally, water generously, preferably with rain water. Make sure the pot has good drainage, soil that is too wet at the bottom of the pot is not tolerated well. During the growth period regularly add plant food in with the irrigation water.
Show moreThe peanut is also called the monkey nut or ground nut. The fruits of Arachis hypogaea grow underground, which is very special. The flowers bloom normal, just above the ground. The young pods grow on stems that bend towards the soil. This way the fruit drills itself into the soil where the peanut ripens further. After some time a new plant can form and grow. Arachis hypogaea is an annual plant from South-America, that is very suitable as a house plant.
