Planting and flowering details
  • Planting
  • Plant the bulbs as soon as possible after receipt..

Start with a layer of potting compost in the bottom of the pot, then plant the bulbs by variety with the point up – start first with the largest bulbs, these are the hyacinths. Cover them with compost before planting a new layer. Next comes the tulips, cover again with a layer of compost and then plant the iris bulbs. The pansies come last on a thicker layer of potting compost.
    Water immediately.

To protect the bulbs against frost, store in a frost-free area or cover the pot in bubble wrap. Water during dry periods.
    Layering directly in the garden
This lovely mix of bulbs and plants is also suitable for planting in the garden – again, plant the bulbs in layers, in the same order as mentioned above. Start by digging a hole for them all – plant the bulbs in the hole three times as deep as the height of the bulb. A bulb of 5 cm should be planted in a 15 cm hole.

  • Care
  • The iris bulbs can stay planted in the same spot for years on end. Do remove only the stems of the faded flowers to encourage the bulbs to store energy from the fading leaves. Cut the leaf of Iris reticulate only once they are yellow and your well cared for iris will bring flowers again next year.

Hyacinths and tulips are at their best in their first year so we advise replacing them every year.
