Planting and flowering details
  • Planting
  • Delosperma ‘Fire Spinner’® is an evergreen ground cover that flowers in late spring. Prepare a wide hole and loosen the soil with a fork. Clay soil can be improved with some sharp sand, although with good drainage it will also thrive in poor soil. Plant the Delosperma ‘Fire Spinner’® at the correct depth – top of the root ball should be just below ground level. Fill the hole with soil, heel well in and water immediately.

Delosperma will thrive in a spot in full sun or part shade in a fairly dry, permeable soil. This lovely plant will also flourish in a planter filled with sandy soil.

  • Care
  • Delosperma ‘Fire Spinner’® is very drought resistant but do water well in those dry periods. We also recommend you feed it at the start of the summer and it will then produce more flowers. Use only a quarter of the dosage as stated on packaging.

Deadheading will encourage reflowering of your Delosperma ‘Fire Spinner’® and these magnificent flowers appear all summer long.
Delosperma ‘Fire Spinner’® in the winter
This plant will not tolerate too much moisture in the winter. If necessary cover with a pane of glass. Delosperma in a pot is slightly more sensitive to frost – stand the pot against a wall, or in the winter with severe frost, in the shed near a window.
