You can plant the Ismene bulbs immediately after receiving them in either the ground or in a pot. Beware of night frosts. When planting the bulbs, make sure that the depth of the hole is twice as large as the height of the bulb. A 5 cm bulb needs to be planted in a 10 cm hole. The spacing of the Hymenocallis is approximately 20 cm. Plant the bulbs in good, well-drained soil, with the point upwards and roots down, then refill the hole with soil. You can plant them individually or in small groups.
