Planting and flowering details
  • Planting
  • Hostas are perennials that can grow well in the same spot for several years. Plant Hosta Hybrids Mix in the ground or in a pot after receiving them from us. If planting in the ground, make a hole in good, loose soil. Condition poor garden soil by mixing in some compost and cow manure grains. Plant the rootball of Hosta Hybrids Mix at the appropriate depth in the hole. The top of the rootball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. You can also plant the Hosta Hybrids Mix in large pots. These plants grow well in a shady or partial shady area and in fertile, moist soil.
Hosta Hybrids Mix is great for the garden
Hostas are one of the most popular foliage plants. This perennial even grows well in the shade. You can use these plants as solitary plants or plant them between other plants. The leaves combine beautifully with Lamium Maculatum

  • Care
  • Hostas are easy-to-grow and low-maintenance plants. Be sure to prevent the soil around the roots from drying out as they do not thrive well in dry soil. In the winter your hostas will go dormant and the leaves will dieback. The hostas continue to thrive underground during the winter and will reappear in the spring.

  • Specifics
  • We have selected the finest varieties for our Hosta Hybrid Mix. You will receive five different types of Hostas. They are also known as the Heart Lily. The inflorescence is lovely with light purple flowers blooming on stems that protrude well above the leaves. Unfortunately, snails really like the leaves of the Hosta. You can prevent the leaves from being nibbled by simply removing the snails, or making a beer-bait trap if necessary. Or sprinkle (environmentally safe) snail grains in a dry place, such as under the plant pot.
