Show moreHippeastrum ‘Blossom Peacock’ is a bulb that flowers very easily indoors. If they can not be planted immediately after receiving them store in a cool place. Plant in a wicker basket or in a flower pot layered with pot sherds or hydro pellets and filled with fresh potting medium. Cover the top with a layer of moss. Approximately one third of the bulb should show above the moss.
Show morePlace the Hippeastrum ‘Blossom Peacock' bulbs directly in a bright, warm place. Water sparingly to begin with, only increasing the amount when you notice the bulb growing. At this stage, you should add plant food regularly when watering. During the flowering period place the pot in a cooler spot and away from direct sunlight, they will then remain beautiful for a longer time. After the flowering period remove the stem when it begins to wilt.
Keeping Hippeastrum through the winterKeep watering and feeding your Hippeastrum 'Blossom Peacock', even after the flowering period is over to allow the bulb to store food. Stop watering in September and allow the leaves to die off. Store the bulbs in a cool, dark place. Repot in December and start them growing again.
