As soon as possible after receiving the tulip mix 'Paradise', they can be planted in the garden, a flower pot or in a planter. If not they must be kept in a frost-free area. Bulbs planted in a flower pot are not usually frost resistant. Plant the bulbs in a planting hole that is three times as deep as the height of the bulbs. A bulb of 5 cm should be planted in a 15 cm deep hole.
Planting distance for the tulip mix 'Paradise' bulbs is about 10 cm. Loosen the soil well and plant the bulbs point up. Refill the hole and avoid walking over the soil. Plant the ‘Paradise' bulbs one by one with a small trowel or with a special bulb planter. For larger groups make a wider hole to accommodate more bulbs. The more flower bulbs planted, the greater effect the flowers will give. Plant the tulips in groups of at least 25 bulbs, or divide about 25 to 50 flower bulbs evenly over the garden border or flower bed.

Show moreThe flowers of the tulip mix ‘Paradise’ are at their best the first year after planting. That’s why we recommend each year adding new and extra bulbs to make your borders and pots even more colourful. The tulip mix ‘Paradise’ grow best in loose, well-drained soil in a spot in full sun. To protect the bulbs grown in a pot against frost, place the pot in a frost-free area or cover it with bubble wrap. Water during dry periods.
Tulips in the winterTulip bulbs that have not yet been planted in the garden are sensitive to frost but once planted out in the garden, they are perfectly hardy.
Tulips planted in pots are more sensitive and will need to be protected in one of the following ways:
- Store your potted tulips in a frost-free area that doesn't get too warm - they do need the cold.
- Wrap the pot(s) in bubble wrap for extra protection.
- If you line the inside of their pot(s) with bubble wrap before adding soil and planting your bulbs, your tulips will already have some protection.
