How do I plant the summer snowflake?
It’s best to plant the summer snowflake as soon as possible after receipt. Plant it directly into the ground, in a flower pot or in a spacious planter. The summer snowflake grows best in loose, well-drained soil. A sheltered spot in the sun, semi-shade or in the shadow will do just fine.
The summer snowflake should be planted at a depth of 3 times the height of the bulb. If the flower bulb is 5 cm. high, then it should be planted at a depth of 15 cm. The distance between small bulbs is 5 - 8 cm and 10 - 15 cm between larger ones.
Planting can be done in spring as well as in autumn. Use a small spade or a special bulb planter for planting. Plant the bulb with the tip up and the roots down.
Planting the summer snowflake in the garden
Find a suitable place in the border or create a flowerbed. Loosen the soil well and divide the flower bulbs across the surface. That can be done in groups of 6 or spread out evenly. Plant the tulip as indicated above, don't walk on the freshly planted area and water immediately.
How do I plant the summer snowflake in a pot or planter?
Put a layer of hydro grains on the bottom of a decorative pot. Place the flower bulb in the potting soil at the right depth. Water immediately after planting. It's best to put the pot inside in winter, as a tulip in a pot doesn't cope well with frost.
