Pruning Black Chokeberry
If your black chokeberry has become too big, it can be pruned drastically after flowering in May or June. Cut or saw the entire bush back to a height of up to fifty centimetres. Do not cut the branches right down to where they fork, as you need to leave sufficient length for new shoots to develop from the dormant buds the following year. The more branches are left, the bushier the new shrub will be.
