Bare rooted plants
Many plants are delivered to your home with bare roots. Roses, ornamental shrubs, (fruit) trees, perennials are all examples that can be delivered in bare roots. Growers dig the plants while they’re dormant, wash the soil from the roots and surround the roots with moist packaging just before shipping.
The plants will be delivered in between autumn and early spring. Bare root plants are usually less expensive, partly because the transport of the bare root plants is cheaper.
