Watering

Although advice regarding when to water specific plants can vary, as a general rule it is best to water in the morning, when the temperature is lower. This allows more of the water to reach the plant before evaporating, and also provides the plants with more water throughout the day to protect them from the sun’s heat. If you can’t water in the morning then late afternoon is the next best time; this avoids the brightest sunshine again, which can burn the wet leaves, but leaves enough time for the leaves to dry before dusk.
